The Captain’s dream for Eurybia Nostos was to respect the legacy of Buckley & Rebecca Smith and continue the development of the glorious property as an artists and healing retreat. The abundance of raw material, inspiration and ideas are coupled to the magic of the land and sea. The Lodge offers a spectacular variety of spaces to be used for an artists atelier, space to think, pursue personal healing and development, or to write or make music and song.
The lodge and cabin are completely off grid. The power network relies on a solar power system complemented by a gas generator. The water system at present relies on rainwater collection and transported drinking water. There is a small on-demand hot water system for an outdoor shower and/or interior dishwater washing system. There is full time high speed reliable Internet connectivity through a Starlink set up. The property has one outhouse and plans for adding a composting toilet. (There are two “test pits” which were tested for a septic system never installed.) There are two high-efficiency (38,000 btu) Renai propane heaters as back-up to the wood stove and fireplace. The lodge kitchen has a propane stove and a high efficiency propane refrigerator.
